President's Update - May

Hey Scorp Fam!   Wow the year is going by REAL quick, it’s May already! Can someone please stop time for me …… Mainly coz I got heaps to update everyone on!!!   1. WAVL Update We are now 4 weeks into WAVL and our teams are doing AMAZING. Div 3 Women’s are sitting on 6th place out of 13 teams (BUT, get this - third, fourth, fifth and sixth place are technically all on the same points)! They’re absolutely crushing it as a brand new team and we are SO excited to see them grow and improve as the season continues with our new coach Nick Antonas! Div 6 Men’s are sitting on 4th place out of 11 teams (again, second, third and fourth place are all on the same points), so they’re doing very well with so many new players to WAVL and the whole team is on FIRE to win this season! Div 5 Men’s are completely DOMINATING in 1st place and undefeated, so CONGRATULATIONS and keep up the undefeated streak Div 5 team!!!! Bring home GOLD! Be sure to check out socials for when and where our teams are playing on Sunday’s so you can come support and cheer our teams on!   2. Pride in Sport Festival The Pride in Sport festival is well underway with only 4 weeks left. The sessions have been spectacular with so many new faces coming to try volleyball. Remember, these last four weeks are for EVERYONE regardless of skill level and is a snapshot to volleyball. ALL are welcome. So invite your friends for the last 4 weeks where we will be doing Spiking training with Alex Warburton. We’ll also be heading over for a bite and drink after the last Pride in Sport session just to celebrate the immense success of this program! The best part? WEEKLY DROP INS ARE ALSO FREE, so be sure to register for the upcoming weeks and if you get an invoice for the Weekly Drop-In……. DONT PAY IT (Sorry Remy) Saturday's 9:30am - 11:00am Weekly Drop In Games! 11:00am - 1:00pm Beginners Training! Cyril Jackson Rec Centre See you there! Invite your friends and family!    3. Social Leagues As some of you might be aware we didn’t register for Loftus Season social league. You might be wondering why? Without the Loftus league we don’t have any social leagues for those players who aren’t interested in the highly competitive WAVL? FEAR NOT, PSVC and The Volleyball Bunch (TVB) have collaborated to start our own league, VolleyVibes Social Series. In short, the details are: Friday evenings from 6:15pm May 9 -July 18th 6 Open/Mixed teams in B and C grades Registration is $1,200 per TEAM regardless of how many members in a team you have I know this is quite last minute but Ray Gilling (TVB director and PSVC Training and Development Coordinator) and myself have been working hard to get this league going! Normally we’d do an EOI but as we want to get teams in as soon as possible, I’m going to get everyone to go directly to me! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me!   4. PSVC Hoodies We are going to be doing an order for PSVC hoodies as the weather is getting colder! If you’d like to order head over to PSVC website to order! We DO also have corporate polo’s that you can wear casually out or when you’re watching/supporting one of our teams. These are not publicly available to order so if you DO want one, please email me for details and we can organise an order for you (contact details at the bottom of this email). Hoodie Price: $65 for members, $75 for non-members All orders deadline: Sunday 18th May 2025 If there’s other merch/apparel you want us to include in our stocks to purchase, LET US KNOW!
