Good Luck to Our WAVL Athletes – Round 1 Kicks Off at Home!

Published Sat 11 Apr 2026

The Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club is proud to wish all our athletes the very best of luck as they take the court in Round 1 of the 2026 West Australian Volleyball League (WAVL) tomorrow.

We’re thrilled to be kicking off the season with a home round, welcoming players, officials, families, and supporters to what promises to be an exciting start to the WAVL season.

This year marks a major milestone for the Perth Scorpions, with significant growth across our playing groups, coaching team, and officiating pathways. The club has expanded from three teams last season to six WAVL teams in 2026, reflecting the strength of our athlete development programs and the commitment of our wider volleyball community.

Club Highlights for the 2026 WAVL Season

  • 6 WAVL teams competing this year (up from 3 in 2025)
  • 4 Men’s teams and 2 Women’s teams
  • 55 athletes representing the Perth Scorpions
  • 6 accredited coaches, including 3 newly accredited Level 2 coaches, led by an experienced Level 3 Head Coach
  • 39 accredited referees connected to the club, including 6 newly accredited Level 2 referees

The continued growth of Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club is a testament to the dedication of our athletes, coaches, referees, and volunteers, and to the strong development pathways we’re building both on and off the court.

We encourage all members and supporters to get down to the venue, cheer loudly, and help create an electric atmosphere as the season begins.

Good luck to all Scorpions competing in Round 1 — play hard, support each other, and represent the club with pride. πŸ¦‚πŸ
