International Womens Day with the Perth Steel

Published Fri 08 Mar 2024

Hey PSVC Members,

International Women's Day is today, the 8th of March 2024.

On this significant day, we unite our voices with individuals worldwide, echoing a resounding message for equal rights: "Women's rights are human rights!" We celebrate the diverse facets of all women, embracing intersections of faith, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual identity, and disability. Our celebration extends to those who paved the way before us, those standing beside us now, and those who will follow.

This is a moment to commemorate the achievements of women, whether social, political, economic, or cultural.

To mark this day, the Perth Scorpions have invited members of the State Volleyball Women's team to share their knowledge and expertise about the game we all love. Fortunately, three athletes will be joining this Sunday's training session on the 10th of March 2024:

  • Jackie Tamburri (Setter)
  • Elysse Hislop (Middle)
  • Shelby Maher (Opposite)

The Perth Steel Women's team recently secured gold at the 2023 Australian Volleyball Super League, with Shelby Maher receiving the MVP award. We consider ourselves fortunate to have them attend our session and hope for continued support from WA Steel and VWA in the future.

Please feel free to join us, say hello, and enjoy a good time this week!

Date: Sunday March 8th 2024, 12:30 to 14:30.

Location: Loftus Recreation Centre (99 Loftus Street, Leederville)
